Retro Disco featuring DJ Dave Gorr and The Vaultettes Dancers... at The Vault

Owner of The Vault, Dave Gorr, began his DJ career in 1978 in Melbourne, spinning vinyl for Andrew Noble Mobile Discotheques while still in high school. At the same time, he attended the Announcers Academy of Australia, to learn all about radio broadcasting.

Finishing school in 1979, Dave took on a motor mechanic apprenticeship. Unhappy with dirty hands, he downed tools and began working as a DJ, playing his way around Australia at clubs in Perth, Broome, Darwin, Townsville, back to Darwin, back to Perth, back to Melbourne, back to Perth (again), Newcastle and now Wollongong.

Dave also made a name for himself as an award-winning radio broadcaster in Melbourne, Geelong, Perth, Darwin, Townsville, Newcastle and had a #1 radio show here in Wollongong. He was also a candidate for Lord Mayor of Wollongong, but that's another story.

One of Dave's favourite things is playing tunes at The Vault... the venue he rebuilt, through a brand new immersive sound system. To see people dancing and enjoying themselves is what warms his heart. That's what The Vault is all about... bringing people together who love having fun.
